Edward “Bunny” Fairlie

U.S. Army
1950 - 1953

Edward (Bunny) Fairlie was born in 1932 in Port Richmond on Staten island. One of 11 children, Bunny
followed his older brothers into the Merchant Marine and then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950. Bunny trained as a parachutist and was a member of the distinguished 82nd Airborne Division, the U.S. Army’s most strategically mobile division.

A real home town boy, Bunny met his future wife, the former Mary Lampkin of Elm Park, at Stechman’s Ice Cream Parlor on the Avenue.

A talented craftsman Bunny was a foreman in the construction industry.

Bunny was happiest when he was with his family. He would drive hours with his wife, Mary, and three kids just to check out a new breakfast spot. He was full of life, got along with people from all walks of life, and had a great sense of humor.

Bunny passed away in 2002 and is still missed by his loving children, Colleen Villari, Doreen Jobson, and Eddie Fairlie; and his grandchildren Desiree, Alyson, Kristen and Stephanie. His wife, Mary Lampkin Fairlie, passed away in 2020. Bunny was a blessing to his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his
siblings and to his many nieces and nephews.
